I’m a decisive and confident editor with 18 years’ beauty experience creating exceptional multi-platform content, styling and art directing beauty shoots and running a beauty department. Initially working in the teen market on Looks magazine and then as Health & Beauty Director on 19 magazine.
My last role was Beauty Director of Now magazine, where I gained extensive experience of commissioning and writing beauty features both in print and online, interviewing A-listers including Kim Kardashian, Nicole Scherzinger and Liv Tyler, negotiating celebrity exclusives and art directing shoots including beauty and celebrity and writing a weekly beauty column.
During my career I have also written for Cosmo online, Zest, Boots Health & Beauty, Wedding, Hair, Spirit & Destiny and various projects. I have edited Now’s one shots including Celeb Party Now and Cosmetic Surgery and I was also Editor of Popular Crafts magazine.
Having been able to communicate about beauty on many different platforms (print, digital, app, video and tablet) throughout my journalist career, I have become an expert in what makes consumers and the beauty press tick.
I have worked as a consultant for many beauty brands including P&G, PZ Cussons, Mark Hill and Johnson & Johnson. Areas that my expertise can help include; brainstorming, NPD, copy writing both print and digital, press release writing, focus group work, celebrity negotiation and trend prediction.
Ambassadorial and TV work
As one of the UK’s leading Beauty Director’s I have gained experience of being a public brand ambassador for both magazines I have worked for and beauty brands. Including being a judge on both, The Big Breakfast Find Me A Model competition and more recently the Nation’s Favourite Hairdresser Award. I have also had made various television appearances including Channel 4’s How To Look Good Naked and 10 Years Younger, ITV’s Lorraine and GMTV and BBC news.
